A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME A CAREGIVER IN VERMONT
Elijah is a 28 year old man living with cerebral palsy. He is a dyed in the wool extrovert who expresses himself with laughter, smiles and sounds.
He loves going on walks in nature,
visiting with his family, friends and care givers,
taking bike rides on his quadracycle,
participating in theater activities,
watching movies, swimming in the pool and he
loves everything music.
Elijah gets around well, walking with assistance, and communicates with sounds but not many words.
He is cared for by his parents and caregivers
and is preparing to move to
Black Mountain Assisted Family Living (BMAFL)
in Brattleboro, Vermont.
That's where you come in..
Families First
is looking to hire someone
caring and attentive, interested
in living with Elijah at BMAFL
while insuring him safe, kind
and dedicated
one-on-one care.
The schedule is 5-6 nights a week
including evenings and mornings.
The work involves hands-on participation
with daily living tasks such as:
Going to the bathroom
Bathing and grooming
Dressing and undressing
Eating and drinking
Walking and moving around
Getting in and out of bed
and last but not least
Pleasant and stimulating
social interactions and
creative time together
Elijah will continue to spend his days
with his family or other care givers and
he generally sleeps from 8pm to 8am.
